Extracurricular Classes

This fall, we will offer two extracurricular classes open to all students, including those not enrolled at EBGIS, who would like to strengthen their German language skills!


Classes Offered

Modern German Literature

We will read exciting modern German stories and build German language skills through discussion and writing. As a highlight, we will welcome the famous German author Andreas Steinhöfel in Spring 2019 for a talk which will be prepared and moderated by the students.

Grades: 8-11

Teacher: Martin Walter

Day & Time: Tuesdays, 5pm-6pm, starting September 18th

Cost: $350/semester (including materials); $300 for EBGIS/GISSV students/alumni


German Drama

The class will decide collectively on a German-language play to rehearse and perform for the school community. In previous years, we have performed "Emil und die Detektive," "Wayside Story," "Momo" and "In 80 Tagen um die Welt."

Grades: 5-10

Teacher: Martin Walter

Day & Time: Wednesdays, 3:45pm-5:15pm, starting the week of September 4th

Cost: $250/semester (two semester participation is required); $200 for EBGIS/GISSV students/alumni
