Accreditation

EBGIS | EBIHS is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, a regional accrediting body that ensures educational quality and continuous school improvement across the Western United States and Pacific region.

We are an authorized IB World School for the Diploma Programme (DP), accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). This globally respected college-preparatory program develops students into critical thinkers and ethical, internationally minded leaders.

As a PASCH partner school, we are part of a global network supported by the German Federal Foreign Office and the Goethe-Institut. This designation recognizes the excellence of our German language program and cultural education from preschool through high school and opens opportunities for international collaboration and scholarship. As a PASCH school we are accredited to administer the Deutsche Sprachdiplom (German Language Diploma or DSD) level I and level II by the German Standing Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (Kultusministerkonferenz). All EBGIS students take the DSD I examination in grade 8. All EBIHS students enrolled in the German language track take the DSD II examination in grade 10. The DSD pass rate of EBGIS | EBIHS students from the school’s founding to the present is 100%.

Our membership in the Worldwide Association of German Schools Abroad (WDA) connects us with over 140 German international schools worldwide, promoting educational excellence and shared resources across the global network of German schools abroad.

We are an active participant in the German Language Diploma (DSD) program, offering students the opportunity to earn internationally recognized language certification through the German government's Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK).

Through our affiliation with the German American Business Association, we connect with German-speaking professionals, organizations, and cultural institutions throughout the Bay Area, fostering real-world engagement and career connections for our students and families.

Our close relationship with the German Consulate in San Francisco supports cultural initiatives, educational exchanges, and the continued growth of German language instruction in our preschool through eighth grade programs.

With support from the German central agency for German schools abroad, we receive expert guidance, faculty development, and resources to maintain and enhance our bilingual preschool through eighth grade program. This partnership ensures curricular alignment and access to global programs such as the Deutsches Sprachdiplom (DSD), the German government's official language proficiency exam.

Our collaboration with the German Excelsior Center enriches the cultural life of our school through shared events, educational programming, and community outreach that celebrate German heritage and language.
